When it comes to building something new, I think it’s important to check in on the journey, not just the outcomes.
It’s been 90 days of Building the Talent Machine. An amazing start. We’re rolling into the second quarter of the business, and I want to pause to reflect on what’s been working, what I’ve been learning, and where we’re going next.
One of the highlights? This week I recorded a podcast with a guest who had never done one before. That’s the exact spirit of what BTTM is about: uplift and upskill. Creating new opportunities for people to share their voice, even if they’ve never been in the spotlight before. Because that was me just a few years ago, before launching my own recruiting agency, getting invites to speak on stages, and meeting my heroes through hosting conversations on my podcasts.
And truthfully, I don’t love the spotlight myself. So why start podcasting?
Because friends from the internet nudged me. Because I know if I can activate my highest potential, I can inspire it in others. And because the recruiting community deserves more platforms where we’re celebrated, challenged, and given the mic.
What Building the Talent Machine Can Do
This first 90 days of building a revenue generating business with real clients, has shown me that BTTM is a full blown talent media and hiring solutions engine.
And here’s what we do:

Custom content that tells real stories in recruiting
Event activations that put recruiting in the spotlight
Analyst research studies that move the industry forward

Long-term brand deals that preserve the integrity of my endorsement
Paid speaking events that amplify the message of process, products, and solutions
RecOps recruiting tech audits and AI implementations
That’s the machine we’re building. And this content isn’t just content for content’s sake, but a system that creates impact and opportunity for the recruiting community and our amazing partners making this all possible.

Week 1: Las Vegas for SAP Connect (Congrats to our friends at SmartRecruiters!)
Week 2: Nashville for RecFest - the Largest TA Conference in the World where I’ll be on stage giving a talk on Wednesday, October 15th at 4:30 p.m. on the Innovate stage on “AI Washing” in recruiting tech and on Thursday, October 16th at 1:15 p.m. on the Disrupt stage I’ll be hosting a conversation with Steven Lu, CEO and founder of Pin on how to “Legit Check AI Sourcing”
Week 3: LinkedIn Talent Connect??? Denver to record new episodes and shorts for the show. And something new you’re not gonna wanna miss…
Week 4: Detroit for Tim Sackett’s Michigan Recruiters Conference on October 30th where I’ll be speaking on “Vibe Hiring!”
The first 90 days have been a reminder that momentum is real. And by building in public, I’m not just moving my own work forward, but hopefully giving encouragement to others to start, try, and grow too.
